Distinguished trade union leaders, volunteers, social worker, journalists were the participant of the training in this particular issue. A total of 37 volunteers and workers joined in two training events on case management and documentation where 02 were women and 35 were men. Before organizing the training sessions, a concept note was developed by the project team for the proposed 12 case management and documentation trainings.
First training on Case Management and Documentation for the monitoring of workplace accident and occupational disease was held at U-multipurpose Hall, Mirpur, Dhaka on 11th January 2023. AGS of OSHE Executive Committee Ms. China Rahman inaugurated the training where MM Kabir Mamun, Project Coordinator moderated the event. Project Coordinator MM Kabir Mamun and Case Management Officer Nusrat Jahan were the facilitator in the training event. Members from two volunteer groups from Savar, Dhamarai and Narayanganj areas were participated to the training. A total of 16 volunteers and workers participated to the training event where all were men.
Second training on Case Management and Documentation for the monitoring of workplace accident and occupational diseases was held at PSTC training center, Gazipur on 6 February 2023. MM Kabir Mamun, Project Coordinator moderated the event. Project Coordinator MM Kabir Mamun and Case Management Officer Nusrat Jahan were the facilitator in the training event. Volunteer group members form Sreepur Gazipur and Mymensingh were the participants in this training. A total of 21 volunteers and worker participated to the training event where 2 were women and 19 were men.
In these training events the participants were introduced about holistic case management approach and its importance. The training includes basic components of case management, steps of case management. Notification and documentation are the starting point of a case management procedure. After the notification and documentation, the investigation process starts to about the accident. After the investigation process, a need assessment will be conducted where victim’s Bio-Psycho-Social needs are assessed carefully. Other stages are planning, implementation of planning, Follow-up and case closure and an option to reopen of case.
In the training OSHE also oriented the participants about the sectors of industries and categories of workplace accident and also about the compensation benefit, related laws and rules.
