Community level mobilization meeting for volunteers and factory workers
Prominent labor leader Sirajul islam Rony, President, Bangladesh National Garments Workers Employees League (BNGWEL) was the chief guest of the meeting. He shared the importance of mobilization on his speech and urged the workers to unite for their rights. Bangladesh Garments Textile and Lather Workers Federation (BGTLWF) leader Shamima Akter and Bangladesh Free Trade Union Congress (BFTUC) Leader Iffatara Shely also spoke in the meeting in different issues related to workplace accident and diseases.
Volunteers from Dhaka group and worker from Dhaka city participated in the meeting. A total of 25 volunteers and workers were participated in the meeting where all were female. These volunteers are engaged to collect information related to occupational accident and diseases and will assist to manage research and monitoring smoothly. This volunteer groups are comprised with the members of different trade unions, representative of workers, social workers and local journalists.
